ABOUT US:

Affinity Sugar Gliders is located in Phoenix, Arizona.

Largely due to the sale of sugar gliders at shows, relaxed USDA guidelines on hobby breeding and the lack of information and/or misinformation being passed along to new sugar glider owners, there is a growing number of unwanted sugar gliders that in need of loving and comitted homes in Arizona. We call these rescues.

We have always taken in rescues with the intent to provide a loving permanent home and our rescues were not available for adoption. However, we found that with so many rescues, we would quickly run out of room and resources. Each of these rescues deserves plenty of attention and love.

Rescues often have been neglected or mistreated and may come with emotional baggage that can be difficult to deal with. Sometimes, they have been well taken care of and simply need a new home. Regardless of the background, it takes a special kind of person to make a difference in the lives of these precious animals.

We have had great success in taming wild and biting sugar gliders and find that each glider responds differently. There are many bonding and taming techniques and we believe that all sugar gliders will bond to some degree.

OUR GOALS:

  • To rescue and rehome sugar gliders as pets only to informed, responsible, committed individuals and families.
  • To promote awareness of sugar gliders in need in an effort to reduce the number of unwanted sugar gliders through information and education.
  • To help foster the proper care of sugar gliders through education of new owners and access to links providing valuable information.
