Don't leave your glider out of its cage unattended.
 
Don't feed your glider anything with onion/garlic in it.
 
Don't allow your glider access to strings and threads that can wrap around their feet.  Watch out for your hair which can also wrap around a toe. (Many gliders have been caught and lost limbs this way)
 
Don't feed your glider chocolate or anything with chocolate in it.
 
Don't feed your glider fried foods, high fat content foods.  Can cause obesity and eventually lead to death.
 
Don't put a heat rock in the cage with your glider.  A safe alternative is a ceramic heat lamp.
 
Don't use a harness or leash on your sugar glider.  They do not like them and leashes have caused serious injuries to sugar gliders.
